TO THE FESTIVAL OF HAPPY MINDS
COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL WITH YOUR MENTAL WELLBEING AT OUR HEART.
DESTIGMATISING THE TOPIC OF MENTAL HEALTH THROUGH COMEDY WHILST HAVING SOME 'CRAIC' ALONG THE WAY!
***Due to the current situation with Covid-19, this year our festival
will be taking place online***
Join the Craic Film Festival is a mental health event that will take place at Ulster University, Magee campus. During the festival there will be a range of films of any genre screened, all of which have a comedy undertone. There will also be workshops available for attendees, one being a fantastic stand-up comedy workshop, followed by an evening of stand-up comedy.
This will be the first comedy-themed mental health film festival on the island of Ireland. With the current levels of people struggling with their mental health in Northern Ireland, it is now considered to be an epidemic, and action needs to be taken to help these people that are suffering. Sometimes, making mental health a laughing matter, is a way of achieving this. In fact, the broader push in society towards destigmatising mental illness can be traced back to the stand-up circuit.
Along with raising awareness of mental health, the festival is linking in with local charities to help boost their profile, help attendees in need, and raising funds to assist in their services.
Films will be available to view at the university, and online.
